About
Schaefer, a native of West Hills, California, is a graduate of Arizona State's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication where he received a bachelor's degree in Sports Journalism. He has served as a broadcaster for the Sun Devil baseball, softball and ice hockey programs on the Pac-12 Digital Networks and was twice ranked as one of the top 20 collegiate broadcasters in the nation by the Sportscasters’ Talent Agency of America.
Additionally, he served as the broadcasting director and a play-by-play voice for KASC Blaze Radio, ASU’s student station, where he had previously been named Broadcaster of the Year as a freshman in 2017. He covered baseball, basketball, football and softball for Blaze, winning two IBS Radio Awards for hockey play-by-play and a BEA Award of Excellence for baseball play-by-play in the process. He also spent two seasons as a broadcaster for the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
He is currently the play-by-play voice of the Ontario Reign, American Hockey League affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, and has called NHL games on the Kings iHeart Audio Network.
